With the site back online and stable again we're starting to get registrations back on the site which will make newsletter and document access a lot easier once it becomes available again. I'm hoping to be able to have it running by the time for the next newsletter but we'll just have to see how time holds out. Additionally, I am aware of a few quirks and bugs; I will be working on these as soon as I have time, I am considering adding a "bug tracker" feature to the site so people can report any problems and get status updates as I address them.
The additional domains that I mentioned are www.9thinfantrydivision.org and www.oldreliables.org and their purchases (while expensive) are intended to secure our webspace further. It is impossible to purchase and maintain all the domains that have significance to the 9th Infantry Division but octofoil.org, oldreliables.org and 9thinfantrydivision.org seemed like a well rounded group especially since we've had several similiar sites popping up across the internet. As much as it's great that people are interested in putting up sites for the 9th Infantry Division as a whole, these additional sites typically lack significant information about the division and only really work against the community by further fragmenting it across the internet. Hopefully, the purchase of these 2 additional names will help to off-set some of that fragmentation and draw people together to pool knowledge and resources in a common place.
A huge thanks to everyone who has begun to register and post information in the forums again. We will be continually working on getting this site fully functional and look forward to having usable resources and information again as soon as possible.
